Client: Rotherham General Hospital NHS Trust
Project: Greenoaks Unit
Greenoaks was originally built in the 1920’s as a single storey isolation ward. Unused for several years, the fabric was in a very poor condition. Demolition was considered before feasibility studies showed that conversion and extension was a viable project.
The building was totally refurbished to accommodate an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Outpatients Unit. The original external verandas were demolished and a new reception and waiting room extension added. Internal walls, which were exposed by the demolition, were rendered. The building was re‐roofed and new windows installed.
