Peak Edge Hotel, Derbyshire
Client: Peak Edge Hotel
Project: New Boutique Hotel
Self Architects were appointed by the owner of a local well known pub and restaurant, with a thriving wedding venue business, who realised that a hotel development adjacent to the business would provide further opportunities.
Planning approval was eventually obtained in this sensitive Peak District National Park location, and we were then appointed to carry out detailed working drawings for the 2-storey 27-bedroom boutique hotel. The hotel was designed with a timber frame construction, with traditional elevational treatment of local reclaimed stone and natural slate roofs, and the interior finishes to the bedrooms, public areas and reception being very contemporary.
The hotel development incorporated air source heat pumps and a surface water drainage attenuation pond.
The development also provided a link to the new orangery function suite and restaurant.
