Pharmacy Department, Sheffield
Client: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Project: Expansion of Pharmacy
Location: Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield
Self Architects designed alterations to expand the Pharmacy Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
Dispensing is continuous, 365 days a year, so a temporary Pharmacy was constructed to maintain the service whilst the alterations and fit out of the new Pharmacy were completed.
The new Dispensary was designed to incorporate a large “Robot” which stores and dispenses drugs to positions around the Dispensary.
The new Pharmacy also serves Outpatients and a new Waiting Room and Dispensing areas were included.
Particular care was required to manage the service provisions to maintain the correct environment for drugs storage and staff.
