Grenoside Primary Residential Conversion

Grenoside Primary Residential Conversion

Following extensive negotiation with the Council a planning application for the conversion and extension of the former Grenoside Primary School into 13 flats with associated car-parking and landscaping has finally been approved.

The Victorian classrooms at the old Grenoside Primary building have been empty since the school relocated to modern premises 10 years ago but the £1.2 Million project by developer Aries Properties can now proceed to restore and renew the historic buildings.

The development will preserve the character of the existing buildings whilst the additional construction will remain sympathetic to them such that bringing the former school back into use will make a positive contribution to the character of Grenoside.

The site’s prominent location means the development will be supported by the existing infrastructure in the village, including good public transport links, and new residents will also support local businesses and help to ensure Grenoside remains a thriving place to live.
