Sandygate Road, Sheffield
Project: 9 Townhouses with separate Garaging
Location: Sandygate Road, Sheffield
Client: Staite Group
The Staite Group acquired the project from another developer who had finally obtained Planning Approval for nine houses in a quarter circle crescent shape on the former "Dutch House" site at 412 Sandygate Road, Sheffield.
In order to avoid difficult detailing, particularly on the inner elevation, a segmental solution was chosen where each facet had straight walls with a projecting buttress between. This gave a base for the corbel supporting the projecting roof parapet between the properties.
Natural stone walling with ashlar stone projecting bays, lead dormer windows, and Juliet balconies to the lounges on the south side all added to the character of the properties.
The developer paid special attention to the quality of the entrance from Sandygate Road to enhance the development and to fit in with the character of the area.
Careful detailing, quality workmanship and a beautifully presented show house ensured rapid sales.
