Self redesigned all the amenity space in the 981 bed Marsden House, an existing student accommodation block close to Leeds City Centre and the Campus of Leeds Beckett University.  The design utilised redundant areas of a health club, with a gym, a pool and changing rooms.

The design creates a range of different areas for socialising and study and now provides lounges, study areas, work pods, refreshment areas, cinema and entertainment areas, games pods, table tennis, pool, table football areas, a gym and laundry. The design takes took inspiration from the diversity of Leeds and its industrial heritage in the use of materials, fabrics and lighting.

Adding Interior Design to Student Accommodation

Marsden House joins several student interior design projects, where Self’s interior designers have used underutilised spaces to create amenity spaces, with distinct character and a range of facilities to support and entertain the residents.
