Located at the junction of the A494 and A541 close to Mold town centre, this project for Marston’s Estates Ltd involved the conversion of existing derelict farmstead buildings, along with a new build extension.  The principal farmhouse was Grade II Listed.

The Brief

The brief was to create a country farmhouse ‘Rotisserie’ format public house and restaurant, along with outdoor dining and associated car parking.

The primary design philosophy was to maintain and express the character of the Grade II Listed abandoned and dilapidated farmstead buildings whilst considering the building’s dramatic ‘change of use’ to a pub/restaurant.

The new extension buildings were agricultural in character and similar in scale and materials to the existing farmstead.

The approximate build cost was £2.58m and the works were completed within 33 weeks.
