Cities are changing rapidly, society is advancing, and technology is disrupting our previous assumptions about how land is allocated, carrying us forward into the future. A Masterplan provides a framework for change, commissioned by a client such as a local authority or land owner.
Our work in Masterplanning can be considered as part of the process of developing the brief. The purpose of this broad process is to encourage creative thinking to test how these ideas might work in practice and generate a robust logic to underpin the means to bring about change.
The culmination of our work is varied and this might include a policy document, a design code, a feasibility report or business case, a planning application or a design for a building. By continued consultation with all stakeholders during this process, the outcome should embody the societal values that underpin it and should include economic, cultural, and social values.
